Shakaron: Where Every Moment is SWEET!
We are excited and a little nervous to finally start our dream venture – ShakarOn. After a successful home bakery journey, we decided to launch this website. We understand that it is not possible to reach the audience worldwide, so we have this online bakery window to reach everyone through our recipes.
The brand name ShakarOn is a beautiful combination of two words: “Shakar” (शकर / ਸ਼ੱਕਰ), meaning sweetness in Hindi and Punjabi, and “On,” which represents the passion for baking that never stops and the magic of sugar in desserts that is always on top. As the brand name suggests, we are all set to bring sweetness, creativity, and the joy of homemade baking into your everyday life.
About Baker
Hey, sweet lovers, you can call me Moni. I am a self-taught cook and baker. Making passion your career is a blessing. From baking almost every day for family and friends to starting a website to make my recipes reach every corner of the world, here I am living my dream.
Craving for something sweet and ordering from outside is the easiest way to satisfy yourself. However, have you ever checked the ingredients in the dessert that you recently ordered? Are they clean enough to eat for you and for your family members, especially kids? You will be amazed to know the ingredients which commercial bakers use to bake most of their products. This was the triggering point for me, and I started baking for my loved ones. We understand that we can’t celebrate without something sweet; we can’t enjoy without eating something sweet and delicious, but we can control that whatever we are eating is not harmful for our health. After baking so many times, I realised I am actually enjoying the process, and it is my happy place. My husband and son used to give a big SMILE after tasting dessert, which made me realise that I can do this 100 times without complaining.
As I have never taken any professional training, all my recipes are finalised after so many attempts, most of which failed, sadly, but I always try to come up with the best. Here comes the major role of family and friends, they appreciated me for my recipes and always gave me the boost to open a bakery. Throughout the journey of ShakarOn, my husband is the biggest support. He always tells me, “Chase your dreams, don’t look back and don’t worry if you fail; I am always there for you”.
Above all, I love cooking, baking and exploring different food across the world. From New York Cheesecake, Publix fruit tart, to Egg tarts, Kaya Jam Toast in Singapore, I enjoy every bite of something loved by locals. It is amazing to see that different corner of the world has its own different taste in desserts. Some areas, like Asian countries, prefer less sweet desserts, and on the other hand, Western countries prefer sweeter desserts. These things make me wonder if everyone can follow the same recipe for one dessert. I don’t think so. Anyways, here you will find the recipes that are less sweet but really mouth-watering, and I bet you can’t stop at just one bite!
